Donald is a disputes resolution partner based in the Hong Kong office. He is dual-qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England & Wales. He is trilingual (English, Mandarin and Cantonese) and has been handling matters in both Chinese and English on a daily basis for over 15 years. He joined the firm as a trainee in 2010 and was promoted to partner in 2021.

Lauded as a “superb litigator” by The Legal 500 (2025), Donald’s experience spans a broad range of contentious matters, including court litigation, international arbitration, insolvency proceedings, regulatory enquiries and fraud investigations. Donald recently appeared as sole advocate in a 46-day bilingual death inquest hearing relating to a ferry collision off Lamma Island in Hong Kong. He also regularly sits as arbitrator in international arbitration proceedings. He has extensive experience in handling cross-border matters involving multiple jurisdictions and applicable laws.

He is a Committee Member of the CIArb East Asia Branch (EAB) and the Hong Kong Maritime Law Association (HKMLA).
Donald was a lecturer in the Master of Laws (Arbitration and Dispute Resolution) programme of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2017-2020. He acts as guest lecturer from time to time and regularly publishes bilingual articles on the development of arbitration law in Hong Kong.
