Admission Requirements for Panel of Arbitrators
The Board of Directors (the "Board") shall have the discretion to admit an applicant to the SCMA Panel of Arbitrators (the "Panel"). The appointment to the Panel may be of such length of time and subject to such conditions as the Board deems appropriate.
The following requirements are applicable for all applications received from 1 April 2026:
| (i) | At least 10 years of engagement in a responsible position or positions (commercial, technical or legal) in one or more areas of the maritime industry; |
| (ii) | Knowledge of law relating to maritime commerce, navigation and maritime matters generally, and arbitration practice and procedure; |
| (iii) | Submitting at least two reasoned awards drafted by the applicant; |
| (iv) |
Fulfilling either one of the following two requirements: a) proof of fellowship with a recognised arbitral institute; b) successfully completing an award writing course conducted by a recognised institute. Non-exhaustive examples of recognised institute referred to at (iv)b include: (i) CiArb; (ii) SiArb; (iii) the NUS School of Law's Law Academy |

Membership with the SCMA. |

By making an application for admission to the Panel, every applicant accepts that SCMA retains a discretion to decline admission or that an arbitrator may subsequently be removed from the Panel, in the event that the Board shall conclude, on reasonable grounds, that arbitrator is no longer suitably qualified or fit and proper person to serve as a Panel Arbitrator of the SCMA. The applicant further accepts that a decision of the Board to decline to admit or to remove an Arbitrator from the Panel, shall be final and binding. Every applicant who is placed on our Panel as Arbitrator will be appointed for a period of five (5) years. To apply to join the Panel, please download the application form. |

Application to Join the Panel of Arbitrators
By making an application for admission to the Panel, every applicant accepts that an arbitrator may subsequently be removed from the Panel, in the event that the Board shall conclude, on reasonable grounds, that the arbitrator is no longer suitably qualified or fit and proper person to serve as a Panel Arbitrator of the SCMA. The applicant further accepts that a decision of the Board to remove an arbitrator from the Panel, shall be final and binding.
To apply to join the Panel, please submit the following to the SCMA at secretariat@scma.org.sg.

| (ii) | Passport Photograph or Headshot in Colour; |
| (iii) | All required documents, as indicated in the SCMA Panel of Arbitrators Application Form; and |
| (iv) |
All other relevant documents, including but not limited to, your personal curriculum vitae or resume. |
