Managing Risks in Sale and Purchase

The Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA), together with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Singapore Branch and the Baltic Exchange, co-organised a seminar on managing risks in ship sale and purchase (S&P) transactions.

The session brought together professionals from across the maritime industry including brokers, legal advisors, technical experts, and shipowners to explore legal, commercial, and operational risks in S&P deals. Discussions covered a range of current issues, including price volatility, delivery risks, financing challenges, sanctions compliance, and ESG considerations.

The panel examined case studies and shared practical strategies for navigating risk across the S&P process, from due diligence to post-delivery disputes, offering attendees a grounded view of risk management in today’s dynamic environment.

SCMA would like to thank all our speakers, ICS Singapore and the Baltic Exchange for their partnership in delivering this insightful session.
