David Bateson

Besides the SCMA, David is an panel arbitrator of major arbitration institutions, including the SIAC, HKIAC, LCIA and CIETAC. He has acted as an arbitrator in more than 100 cases.

David is the author of Commercial Arbitration in Hong Kong, and contributes to the chapters of Arbitration in Hong Kong, A Practical Guide, and Chitty on Contracts Hong Kong. 

In his 37 years of experience as a partner in a law firm and an arbitrator, whose practice includes shipping disputes, David has been recognised by Chambers as one of the Most-in Demand Arbitrators in Asia-Pacific.
