Over the 47-year period, the hallmarks of expertise are in consulting for international Sales Purchase Agreements, Joint Ventures and Consortium Agreements, Charter Parties, Ship Repairs, Ship Building, and complex projects in Offshore Oil & Gas and Energy Sectors. 

Jayems has conducted arbitrations as Chairman, Tribunal Member, Sole Arbitrator, and published several Arbitral Awards, Adjudication Decisions and Mediation Settlement Agreements. The  disputes in key Commercial and Industrial Segments were related to: Charter Party and Maritime matters, Rig-building, Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Contracts, Sub-sea Pipe Laying, Offshore Construction, Offshore Support Vessels and E & P Subsea Services Fleet, Network, Signalling and Communication Systems, Guaranty Agreements, Services and Trade, Civil Construction and Infrastructure Development, Power Plants, Highways Infrastructure and Construction Projects, Real Estate Agencies and Sales Purchase Agreement.

Jayems had worked in the industry verticals encompassing, Maritime and Shipping, Oil & Gas majors, EPCIC Contractors, Construction Projects, Logistics & Warehousing, and Shipyards, in Asia and Europe. Jayems has also acted as a consultant to the Contractors of Oil & Gas Transportation pipelines, Owners of Oil and Gas (LNG/LPG) Tankers, Dry Bulk, Container Ships, Drill Ships, OSV fleets, Rigs, and FPSO’s.

Academically, besides being accredited Chartered Valuer and Appraiser (CVA), Jayems graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, MBA in General Management, Master of Technology in Knowledge Engineering, Master of Science in Maritime Studies and LL.M. (IP Law). He holds professional qualifications in marine, including the Chief Engineer’s First-Class Certificate of Competency (MCA, UK) as per latest IMO STCW Regulations.

Jayems is further qualified and accredited as Certified International Arbitrator, Chartered Arbitrator, Sports arbitrator under CAS Rules, Accredited Adjudicator, Accredited Mediator and Chartered Valuer and Appraiser.
