Lianjun Li (B.Sc., M.Sc., LLM, FCIArb, FHKCIArb) is a senior partner of Reed Smith Richards Butler LLP, a well-known international law firm. He has extensive experience in dealing with disputes relating to international trade and commodity, documentary credit issues, shipping (charterparty, ship purchase and sale, bill of lading and cargo claims, P&I matters, shipping casualties), ship finance and sale and purchase.
He has been a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators since 2002 and a Panel Arbitrator of the Law Society of Hong Kong since 2017. He is also a panel arbitrator in many well-known arbitration institutions including the Hong Kong International Arbitrator Centre (“HKIAC”), China International Economic Arbitration Commission (“CIETAC”), China Maritime Arbitration Commission (“CMAC”), Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (“KLRCA”), Singapore International Arbitration Center ("SIAC"), Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (“SCMA”), Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration ("SCIA"), Beijing Arbitration Commission ("BAC"), and Shanghai Arbitration Commission.
He is a visiting professor to Dalian Maritime University and Shanghai Maritime University. He is a member of Hong Kong Election Committee. He is also a member of Advisory Committee on Promotion of Arbitration of Hong Kong Department of Justice. He served as a member of Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board from April 2016 to March 2022. He is a member of Transport and Logistics Committee of the Law Society of Hong Kong and the SCMA Procedure Committee. He is also a member of the LMAA Supporting Member Liaison Committee (Asia Pacific).
Lianjun studied and worked at Dalian Maritime University and Stockholm University. He qualified as second officer for ocean going vessel and worked at seas over two years. He has been recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers as a leading individual for many years.
