Prof. Chu Beiping
Dean
Prof. Chu has over fifteen years of experience of representing clients in international commercial arbitration on maritime and admiralty; he has written numerous articles on the maritime laws and the other related topics, and has been a professor in DMU and lecturing the students on maritime laws and international arbitration for nearly one and a half decades. Prof. Chu is also acting as sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in international commercial arbitration both in China and abroad.

Prof. Chu is the author and the co-editors of eight books on maritime laws and insurance laws, and has published more than 50 papers in academic journals and conferences.

1996 Graduated from Navigation College of Dalian Maritime University (DMU) with a bachelor’s degree in Navigation Technology

1996 – 1997 Served as deck officer with Yantai International Shipping Company

1999 Qualified as PRC lawyer

2000 Obtained LLM from DMU Become a Lecturer on marine insurance law, ships’ collision law, shipping law, charter parties and international maritime arbitration.

2004 Founded Chu Beiping & Co., a law firm specializing in shipping, arbitration maritime law

2006 Associate Professor and Masters Supervisor of DMU Law School

2008 Obtained Ph.D at DMU

2009 Professor of DMU Law School

2010 Doctoral Supervisor of DMU Law School
