1. Maritime & Transport: Our main area of practice. We act for ship owners, charterers, ship operators, Protection and Indemnity Clubs and other players in the transportation industry. Our practice spans wet work (collisions, pollution, ship repairs, shipboard accidents and other matters arising out of marine casualties), dry work (charterparty and bill of lading disputes, tug and tow disputes, cargo claims and ship sale and purchase disputes), transactional and marine insurance matters, including maritime fraud and piracies. In addition, we also act in freight forwarding and carriage by air and land cargo claims.
2. Insurance: Another major area of practice. We handle a wide variety of insurance matters and our clients include both international and local insurers. We have handled cases involving negligence claims against professionals such as accountants and software engineers, product liability claims, SARS?related claims and industrial and motor accidents.
3. Arbitration & Alternative Dispute Resolution: Ang & Partners represent clients in domestic and international arbitrations, both ad hoc and institutional. Apart from acting as counsel, our partners also receive appointments as arbitrators.
4. Commercial Law practice: We handle all aspects of contract and tort law, including international trade, agency and distribution agreements.
