Independent maritime arbitrator and former P&I Club claims director with more than 25 years’ experience in maritime law and arbitration. Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). Extensive expertise in charterparty, marine insurance, and other maritime contractual disputes.

 

Full-time independent arbitrator. Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and passed Singapore’s Maritime Arbitrator Accreditation Programme 2023, organised by SCMA and SIArb.

 

Former Divisional Director (Claims) at a leading International Group P&I Club, spending fifteen years advising Owners, Charterers and Pool Managers on a wide range of FD&D, P&I and Charterers’ Liability to Hull (CLH) matters. Spent the previous ten years in private practice at City of London law firms, specialising in contentious marine insurance and shipping work. Highly attuned to the practical needs of shipping and logistics companies and their insurers, especially the need for efficient, cost-effective dispute resolution.

 

BIMCO Documentary Committee member (2015-2022) and member of the Drafting Sub-Committee responsible for BIMCO’s suite of four LNG Fuel Clauses for Time Charterparties, published in 2022. UK Chamber of Shipping Documentary Sub-Committee member (2015-2022). International Group of P&I Clubs Production Operations and Specialist Craft Committee member (2016-2022) and LNG Indemnities Working Group member (2016-2022).


Supporting Member of the Hong Kong Maritime Arbitration Group (HKMAG). Empanelled by the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), the Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) and the AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre (AALCO-HKRAC). Fluent in German.
