Dr Poomintr Sooksripaisarnkit is a Lecturer in Maritime Law at the Australian Maritime College, University of Tasmania. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Professor in the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong, where he taught marine insurance law, admiralty procedure law, and private international law to students in the (then) LLM in Maritime and Transportation Law. Before joining academia, he worked for two and a half years at a reputable ship management company in Hong Kong in charge of the Legal & Insurance Section. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is a Member of the Panel of Arbitrators and the Panel of Neutrals under APEC Rules of eBRAM International Online Dispute Resolution Centre. He is also a Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association. In Australia, he is a member of the Maritime Law Association of Australia and New Zealand. He is also an Accredited Mediator with both the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution and the Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited.
