Minn Naing Oo is the Managing Director of Allen & Gledhill (Myanmar) and a Partner of Allen & Gledhill. He is an experienced international arbitration practitioner and arbitrator. Minn is also the former Chief Executive Officer and Registrar of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). Apart from his time at SIAC and in private practice, Minn was previously a Director at the Ministry of Trade and Industry Singapore overseeing Singapore’s WTO and free trade agreement negotiations.
He was also previously Singapore’s representative to the UNCITRAL Working Group on revising the UNCITRAL arbitration rules. In addition, he has worked on the drafting of the Myanmar Arbitration Law 2016.
As an arbitrator, Minn has sat in cases involving various subject matter and sectors, including investment and joint ventures, project development, telecommunications, insurance, and distribution. He has sat as a sole arbitrator as well as a member of three-member tribunals.
Minn has spoken at numerous events and written widely on international arbitration.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.
Minn graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB in 1996. He obtained an LLM in 2001 from Columbia University as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
He is fluent in English and Myanmar/Burmese.
