Elizabeth has been in practice as a specialist shipping and maritime barrister at the commercial and admiralty bar (London) since 1980, took silk in 1998 and was appointed joint head of stone chambers in 2014. 

Her range of work covers arbitration, shipping and the international carriage of goods; international trade and associated finance; surety, guarantee and performance bond disputes; marine insurance; P&I club issues; marine pollution; collision, salvage and towage disputes; shipbuilding/superyacht construction, particularly delay and disruption claims; offshore contracts; damage to marine/offshore installations; maritime limitation of liability; shipsale and mortgage; maritime heritage and wreck law. Elizabeth was named best in shipping & maritime Europe at the women in business law awards in June 2013.
