Elizabeth Sloane, FCIArb, FMIArb is a partner at Stephenson Harwood specialising in maritime and international trade and trade finance disputes across the Asia Pacific region. Originally from Melbourne, she practices English and Hong Kong law and has been based in Hong Kong since 2008. She works across the Hong Kong, Singapore, and other key Asian markets.
Elizabeth has experience in both the wet and dry sides of shipping, together with international trade and trade finance disputes. She also has particular expertise in maritime related insolvencies, ship finance enforcement, arrest and injunctions, and judicial sale. In recent times, she has acted for clients in a large number of trade finance disputes involving elements of insolvency, fraud and other wrongdoing.
Elizabeth is qualified as a lawyer in Hong Kong, England and Wales, and Australia. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators and a Member of the Hong Kong Maritime Arbitration Group.
